A massive thank you and congratulations to everyone who supported the 2025 mm Band Championship! The activity across 24GHz, 47GHz, and 76GHz was superb over the four events. Well done to Roger G8CUB/P (7,860 pts) for winning, with Neil G4LDR/P (5,741 pts) achieving second place and David M0GHZ(/P) (4,159 pts) third.
Based on valuable participant feedback, the 2026 mm Band series is evolving to offer a more flexible, focused, and rewarding experience:
- More Chances to Win: The series expands from 4 to 5 events, still counting your best 3 scores. Starting earlier in the year, we will include a prime "Winter" session on Sunday 29th March as well as the usual events in May, July, September and October. Giving you maximum flexibility to secure your top 3 scores.
- Longer Operating Window: We've expanded the contest time to 10 hours (8am to 6pm UTC). This offers a longer QSO window to beat poor weather and take advantage of better DX opportunities during the cooler drier summer mornings, when humidity is much lower.
In addition, a separate inaugural "EHF Band Cumulative" series (76, 122, 134, 242GHz) will be launched. 76GHz will anchor an exciting new 3-event EHF Band series (February, April and October). Designed to encourage activity on these higher bands, in 2026 UKuG aim to foster formal contest activity further up the spectrum especially with popular transverters like the VK3CV units.
